China’s dope and all but wish I could find a nice beach to chill out at for the weekend.
I miss Palos Verdes…
And yea the Jersey Shore too I guess (not the show).
Damn
crazy stuff went down tonight.
Anyways today was the hottest day in China in the past 2 weeks.
I used to love it when I was younger and my mom would cut up all these fruits for me to eat.
Looks so refreshing.
KOBE
Bryant is coming to Hangzhou tonight…?! Pretty crazy…one of my students is a sports news reporter and is going to interview him. He’s in town for some Nike commercial shooting.
Cool story bro.
Ayo
Brother arrived in China. He’s going to be here for a year as well, he’s kinda buggin out lol.
Italian friend says I look exactly like an Asian Johnny Knoxville….lol never heard that before.
Sup smalls

Met a new student today.
“Hey I’m T.K. what’s your name?”
“My name is Wood”.
lol
Not Woods or even Woody, just Wood.
First Time
Went to the mart across yesterday and saw the first pair of twins I’ve ever seen in China. Because China has a 1 child per family law, they’re really rare. If you have more than 1 child you have to pay a fine to the government.
What’s more rare than twins in China?
OBESE PEOPLE…..
haven’t seen you dudes in a minute..
Werd
Worked the whole yesterday tutoring English to Chinese adults and made enough money to pay my next month’s rent.
Crazy
Good ol Soj
So for some reason Soju seems to be the drink of choice for pre-gaming here. Yea the Koreans are the biggest international group studying at this school but I’m talking about my other foreigner friends especially the Germans, the Brits, and the Kiwi’s(New Zealanders).
As a Korean - American, I’ve been around this stuff for quite a few years now and the taste and the smell is...
Jook
Jook or rice porridge.
Available every morning downstairs in the cafeteria.
For when you are hungry or when you are hangover.
Works wonders when you are hungover.
5ish cents for a nice big bowl…
lol
Went to the gym today and saw a dude working out in nothing but tighty whitey’s
It was weird spotting him for a set on the bench machine.
Class 1-3 Zhejiang University Spring Semester
Yeap, I’m convinced we had the absolute best class in the language program. My class was just full of interesting people from all over the world and we all got along so well. We lost a few students along the way( moved back to their country) but we still had a great time until the end. Good times class 1-3! And Happy Birthday Zhang Laoshi!

Umbrellas for rain AND sun
I was walking to one of my student’s houses to teach English today. It was the first day in like 2 weeks it hasn’t rained, it was sunny which was nice for a change but damn was it humid(95 degrees, 85% humidity). Anyways, I couldn’t help notice how many females, and even some males were still holding umbrellas. Like most east-Asian countries, the people do NOT like getting tan 1...
At the Club
My white friend from Rhode Island sits down and this Chinese girl walks up to him and they start talking. She keeps asking about America and how she wants to go so badly etc etc etc. And after a few minutes of talking she finally asks ‘So do you want a Chinese wife?”
hahaha Ok this might not be too funny but a lot of Chinese women (especially at the clubs here for some reason) will...
3 am update
Just got back from a few bars/clubs. I don’t know why I thought of updating right now but I guess its because I want to say some things. I teach English 6 hours everyday and this was my first weekend so I just needed a break.
Brother is coming to Hangzhou a week from now, wonder how that’s gonna play out?
23 years old now, what is in store for me in the future?
If I had 1 wish I...

Guilin Day 3 of 3
Woke up early to go for a walk and explore some more around the area. We walked for a bit and was amazed at what we found.
Ladies doing their laundry
Green grass and more mountains
Found an awesome lake with abandoned rafts
Went back to the hostel to get some Western Food. First time I had bacon in China!
After food we went to go check out some...
Guilin Day 2 of 3
Headed out early this day. Went to KFC (they serve breakfast in China), 2 out of the 6 people with us were able to get breakfast sandwhiches until they “sold out” of the other ingredients. I’m pretty sure we were one of the few customers there but yea a lot of Chinese restaurants just “sell out” of certain ingredients.
A picture of Guilin is on the back of the 20...
Guilin Day 1 of 3
Guilin was truly amazing. It is definitely the craziest place I’ve been to in my lifetime in terms of natural beauty, it was really really dope. Took a 21ish train ride to Guilin. PREPARE FOR EPICNESS! Oh yea, I took a total of 588 pictures during this 3 day trip. Each post is going to be 1 day in Guilin/Yangzhuo (neighboring village we visited).
At the train station ready to leave

July 4th
So I celebrated July 4th in China this year (no surprise). There was about 20 of us on the roof of our dormitory building. As you know, fireworks are legal in China, very easy to acquire, and damn cheap. 2 of my American friends bought 2 gigantic suitcases of fireworks and we lit one suitcase tonight for an hour straight.
About 5 Americans including myself sang the national anthem in front of...
Sprite!
So during my stay here in China so far, I’ve met a ton of Chinese people with the weirdest English names. I wish I could remember all of them but my friend just texted me saying he met the person who was supposed to assist him during his English classes and her name was:
Hahaha so ridiculous
More Watermelon!
So one of my students I tutor gave me a watermelon to eat. I was pretty excited to eat watermelon again. I cracked it open and this is what it looked like on the inside.
Yellow watermelon! Nice little surprise, ate half and it was pretty good. Thinking about mushing up the other side, filling it with juice, ice cubes, and a little soju for tonight!
I Feel Amazing
Since 4th grade
I randomly got allergies. It was the day I was moving to Englewood Cliffs from Cliffside Park and my eyes swelled up from the pollen so much I couldn’t see. From that day on I couldn’t eat apples, cherries, peaches, plums, watermelons, and a bunch of other fruits. My throat starts itching like crazy, lips start to swell, and even my esophagus can begin to swell if I over indulge.
...
Yea
I guess you can say I’m getting a little homesick.

When Chinese people take a picture, they say “1, 2, 3, QIE ZI” instead of “CHEESE!”
